Trust Our Experience

Service requires resilience, and so does understanding the VA benefits system. As a U.S. Navy veteran who served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Don Means understands firsthand both the commitment of military service and the challenges veterans can encounter when trying to make sense of the VA benefits process.

Don’s own experience navigating the VA system ultimately resulted in a 100% Permanent & Total disability rating. Along the way, he developed a strong interest in understanding how VA disability ratings, medical evidence, decision letters, secondary conditions, Special Monthly Compensation, and other aspects of the benefits system work together.

That experience became the foundation for DCM Advisory Group.

Today, Don focuses on helping veterans better understand the VA benefits system through education and general benefits information. He is also an authorized Social Security non-attorney representative, assisting individuals with Social Security Disability claims, reconsiderations, hearings, and appeals.

For VA benefits, our role is educational. We do not provide legal representation, prepare or submit VA claims, or issue medical nexus opinions. Instead, we focus on making complicated VA concepts easier to understand so veterans can make informed decisions about their own benefits.
